On Saturday, September 15th Whole Foods Market in Hinsdale is having a Kid’s Fair from 10am-1pm! The WTTW Great Food Fan Van will be there from 10am-noon with musical entertainment, story time and other activities, all for free. From noon-1pm there will be a free kids cooking class with Melissa Graham from Purple Asparagus, giving us all ideas for back-to-school lunches. So especially if you missed the lunch box and snack ideas a few weeks ago, you should check this out!

In the Whole Foods Market parking lot WTTW will be returning to Hinsdale to feature fun-filled musical entertainment with Miss Lori’s CAMPUS and Mr. Brandon. They will do several sets of educational songs and dance about healthy combinations of sleep, exercise and good nutrition. Also, there will be Story Time from the WTTW Kids along with Nutrition Trivia and prizes. Check out their wonderful vendors with kid-friendly products who will providing samples and visit Craft Corner to express your creativity.

Kid’s Cooking Class: Back-to-School Lunchbox

Join Chef Melissa as she returns to Kid’s Fair to show kids and parents how to whip up exciting lunches for lunchboxes or home. (We’re still making the fantastic lunch recipes she made last year!) Melissa is the Founding Executive Director (the Head Spear) of Purple Asparagus, a non-profit organization educating children, families, and the community about eating that’s good for the body and the planet. When the chef isn’t teaching cooking classes in Chicago area schools, she’s contributing to The Sustainable Cook and Kiwi Magazine’s Kiwilog, and blogging while she’s busy being a mom.
